Paid my taxes today… And the range of my adventure has become more defined!
Heading east out of Reno the Interstate 80 squeezes through a narrow valley, lush and green, and the Truckee River runs alongside at a steady pace, unconcerned about what’s happening on the road above. The river’s width is about the same as the two lanes I’m traveling on. I think about the early frontiersmen and what they saw: Carson, Houston, Crockett, they all must have passed this way – and no doubt they felt the same pleasure I do now.
Further down the road comes Exit 105 for Lovelock. There’s nothing there, really, a couple of broken down casinos and a few gas stations. A necessary stop if you have a short range motorcycle like I do. And your luck’s with you if you do, because you might then have lunch at La Casita.
